The
Madhya Pradesh Government has been felicitated with the e-governance award by
the Government of India for the State's special initiative in outstanding
implementation of the e-governance. These awards were presented by the Rajasthan
Governor, Smt. Prabha Rao during the two days 13th National Conference on
E-Governance which began in Jaipur from today. Among the distinguished guests
who were present on the occasion included Rajasthan Chief Minister, Shri Ashok
Gehlot, Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances, Pension and
Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Prathviraj Chouhan and Union Minister of State for
Communication and Information Technology, Shri Sachin Pilot.
The National awards for e-governance 2009-2010 in seven
categories were conferred on various 17 organisations and one organisation was
awarded with the special mention award. Among the 18 winners, a maximum of four
awards have been bagged by Madhya Pradesh. This is a major achievement of the
Madhya Pradesh Government.
